Many patients who are recovering from COVID-19 in Hawaii continue to experience neurological symptoms such as headache, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, memory problems, decreased smell or taste, weakness, or muscle pain. To address and treat neurological complications resulting from patients recovering from COVID-19, Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience has launched a interdisciplinary clinic specifically for “COVID-19 long haulers -first of its kind in Hawaii. The goal is to provide patients with comprehensive neurologic long term whole-person health care. Based on the findings during the visit, the clinic may recommend further testing with other specialists, physical, occupational, and cognitive therapists. The interdisciplinary team at Neuro COVID Clinic is directed by neurologist Kore Kai Liow, MD, Clinical Professor of Medicine (Neurology) and Guest Editor of Neurology International Journal Special “COVID” Issue.

Patients visiting the clinic for the first time can expect a detailed neurologic history, physical & neurological examination which may include additional cognitive screenings, EEG, EMG.

“Recent study shows that at least one-third of people who have COVID-19 continue to experience neurological symptoms.  The NEURO COVID CLINIC at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience is aimed to address an unmet needs of POST COVID “long haulers’ who continue to experience neurological symptoms despite of sometimes normal testing. This long-haul syndrome is still new to everybody, and we are doing everything we can to evaluate and treat patients, and ultimately to meet unmet needs of these patients. We are providing care and studying the long-term effects that COVID-19 has on the nervous system.” Kore Kai Liow, MD, Neurologist & Director, Hawaii Neuro COVID Clinic.

You must provide documentation that you have previously had COVID-19 to be seen in NEURO COVID CLINIC.

The clinic is conducting both in-person and virtual visits. Patients opting for in-person will be seen at either
